HUR air resistance fitness equipment
We recommend that authorized HUR personnel do installation, service and repairs. For your safety and to prevent damage to equipment, please bear the following in mind:
-
Never tilt the machine alone (for example when cleaning underneath). Always ask someone to help you hold it or use a support device.
-
Do not attempt to carry the machine by yourself.
-
Use only electronic devices supplied or certified by HUR to power HUR equipment.
- Do not attempt to repair HUR machines or any of their components before speaking to us at HUR first.
-
Consult the compressor manual for operating and service instructions.
Tool Kit
HUR machines need routine in-house maintenance for which a basic tool kit including the following items is required:
-
Set of Metric Spanners (open ended and ring)
-
Set of Metric Allen keys-up to 12mm
-
Tin of Silicon Spray
-
Jar of Vaseline
Daily checks
Upholstery
-
Clean with damp cloth (no cleaners with bleach!). If using disinfecting products, make sure that they are approved for use with artificial leather.
-
Steam cleaning is an effective way of cleaning the upholstery maybe once a year.
-
For removing footmarks on the machine plinths try T-cut-but use sparingly.
Compressor
-
In case of an undetected leak in the system (pipes and fittings) it is good practice to turn your compressor off each night at the mains. Turn it back on again each morning.
-
Note the compressor motors will only come on (shown by the two green lights on the top of the compressor) when the tank pressure falls. The cooling fans are on constantly.
Drain Condensation
-
Check the condensation level in the condensate bottle on Compressor (if fitted). Remove bottle and empty if ½ full or above. Turn compressor off first at mains.

Drain bottle
-
For compressors with a manual drain valve (found on the side or bottom of the tank) open the drain slowly to allow condensation drain into a suitable receptacle.

Manual drain
- Jun Air - Check/empty moisture from the filter regulator-press the pin (with your finger) on the bottom of the black filter regulator to blow out droplets of moisture collected in the filter. Use kitchen roll to collect droplets if necessary.

-
Bambi - Check/empty moisture from the filter regulator-unscrew with fingers (pliers may be needed if too tight) the black screw on the bottom of the clear plastic filter regulator to drain droplets of moisture. Use kitchen roll to collect droplets if necessary.

Oil level
-
Check the oil level of the compressor motor(s). This is best done by gently rocking the compressor and look for evidence of oil in the inspection glass on the side of the motor.
- If the level is below the "min" mark shown on the side of the motor top-up using only genuine synthetic compressor oil (refer to your compressor manual).

Top-up oil
-
To top-up the oil turn off the compressor and remove the red hexagonal bolt marked "oil" with a suitable spanner. Do not over-tighten when re-fitting.
-
Pour a small amount of oil in the hole and wait for the oil to drain through the pod – check the glass again. DO NOT OVERFILL.
-
Bottles of Oil can be purchased direct from HUR - do not use any other sort of oil as it will invalidate your warranty

Monthly checks
Clean machines
Tilt machines and clean floor surface underneath. A helping hand is recommended for tilting the machine. Wipe or use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris. Be careful not to cause too much tension on tubes/ electric wiring when tilting machine. Avoid hitting components installed underneath the machine.
Check and lubricate seat guide rods
-
Machines which have an adjustable seat need to have the guide rods (on which the seat moves) checked for tightness. To check simply turn each rod with your fingers-if they move they need tightening.
-
Lubricate– wipe with a dry cloth and then lubricate by using a silicon spray.
Quarterly checks
Lubricate cylinder rods
-
Every 3 months, or when the machine lever arms do not feel smooth lubricate the cylinder rods.
-
Access the cylinders by removing the inspection cover (see section on removing inspection covers) on the tower housing the cylinder. Note that for some machines without towers the cylinders will be found underneath or on the outside of the machine.
-
Wipe the cylinder rod first with a clean cloth and then apply a small amount of non-chemical Vaseline with your finger.
-
DO NOT USE WD40 OR SIMILAR LUBRICANTS ON ANY HUR MACHINES OR COMPRESSOR.
