HUR Natural Transmission™ resistance curve

Resistance curve using standard weight stack machine.
Natural Transmission TM
HUR equipment was developed as the result of a research project conducted at the University of Technology in Helsinki, Finland. The outcome was HUR's unique Natural Transmission™ mechanism that replaces the weight-plates; cams and pulleys used in traditional weight stack machines with a pneumatic system of resistance.
Benefits
Using air as resistance overcomes the initial effort required to lift a static weight at the beginning of an exercise and to slow it down at the end, making the movement feel 'smoother' to execute. HUR's more consistent load or resistance profile reduces stress on joints and connective tissues. The workload is applied more specifically to the muscles for more effective results.
Natural Transmission™ mimics the natural function of the muscles by working opposing muscle groups in one exercise (i.e. both eccentrically and concentrically) in the same way the body is designed to function, developing better-balanced, effective results more quickly and safely.
The resistance curve
The resistance curve of HUR machines maintains its profile regardless of the speed of movement providing endurance as well as strength training benefits. This makes HUR ideal for all user groups from young people, the elderly and those undergoing rehabilitation to athletes.
High-Speed movement

Exercising with HUR machines is safe and effective using either fast or slow movements. It was originally designed for power training. You can train harder with a lower risk of injury. The pneumatic system provides the ability to execute quick movements, with a heavy load but without inertia.
