Seniors
“Research demonstrates that along with an improved quality of life for individuals regular exercise has potential benefits for ageing societies in terms of reducing resources and costs within the health care system”. Seniors living independently and numerous facilities worldwide that cater specifically for older people, including retirement villages and residential care homes, use HUR.
Safer, more effective exercise
HUR’s air resistance system Natural Transmission TM overcomes the initial effort required to lift a static weight at the beginning of an exercise and to slow it down at the end, which reduces stress on joints and connective tissues and works the muscle more specifically.
Smooth movement
This more consistent load or resistance profile makes the movement feel 'smoother' and easier to execute.
Replicates natural movement
The pneumatic system mimics the natural function of the muscles by working opposing muscle groups in one exercise (i.e. both eccentrically and concentrically) in the same way the body is designed to work. Exercising the muscle similarly helps maintain balance, strength and coordination.
Easy to use, non-intimidating
HUR has no weight stacks consequently machines are smaller and can appear less intimidating than traditional resistance equipment. A simple + and – push button adjusts the resistance level which can only be seen by the user.
Optional safety features
These include a zero resistance option, range limiters, additional handgrips and various supports to suit specific requirements
Easy Access Line machines and those with Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) accreditation are suitable for everybody, particularly those who are less mobile or wheelchair users.
Strength and balance training such as HUR’s Falls Prevention concept have been shown to help decease the amount of falls and resulting injuries by 15 – 50%.
